Because, actually when you look at what happens in vivo, you have an organized, protected environment in which the cells (the primed pluripotent stem cells) go from about 10 cells to thousands of cells actually. So that expansion is basically what you expect to have.<\/p><p>The question that we could ask in reverse is: why don&#8217;t we get that with normal culture systems, like classical culture systems? In 2D and in aggregates, the cells are not really protected. They don&#8217;t recapitulate the proper shape.
